NATURE Nature:
It's quite difficult(virtually impossible) to accurately understand or predict the nature of NATURE (Weather reports are a classic example. There is a significant margin of error).
As long as everything goes well, we like to think things like - “I am special”, or “ I am blessed”. Quite surprisingly, even bad people (according to society's standards) think the same. The moment something bad happens to us or a dear person, we immediately jump to statements like -“Bad things happen to good people”. I always find a contradiction here. If “Bad things happen to Good people”, then one of the 3 things must be true- (1) Nature's standards of GOOD or BAD might be very different from what society preaches, and we blindly follow. OR (2) The good person(who we say is good) is not actually as GOOD as we like to believe. (Maybe Nature knows the truth and we are telling lies to ourselves and others) or 3) Nature does not care about society’s standards of GOODNESS or BADNESS.
Whatever be the case, I feel Nature is unpredictable (at least for now).
HUMAN Nature:
But there is something in “a few” Humans that do not take NATURE as a given. He asks questions. He tries to understand it. He tries to solve it. No other living organism does this. Only humans do. Sometimes, he succeeds. Other times, he fails. But there is always someone out there who doesn’t give up. He tries to make sense of the world around him. But, every time he solves one, another appears for Nature is full of mysteries. It surprises him once in a while. One such surprise is COVID. Humans have solved this, too, in a very short time. We never know what's coming. But, humans don't give up on it. Somehow, "that nature” of Humans is truly incredible.
